Hospital Driver Class A

 
Drives tractor trailer to transport materials to and from hospitals by performing the following duties.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
Weigh and deliver clean linen to our customers, pick up soil linen and return it to the plant.
 
Assisting shipping clerk by weighing linen carts until the hospital load is ready.
 
Load truck and checking billing for proper number of carts.
 
Delivering linen to customers according to posted schedule.
 
Remove soil carts from hospital and returning them to the plant.
 
Keep truck clean and neat, both cab and box.
 
Comply with all laws by following all pertinent DOT regulations.
 
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Possession of valid class A CDL license.

Pulling carts that weight up to 700 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
