As Indiana’s largest healthcare laundry, we process 50 million pounds of linen each year. We are excited about our brand new 55,585 square-foot state-of-the-art facility located in Hammond Indiana. This $18 million facility opened in December 2022 and has allowed United Hospital Services to expand our service offerings into northern Indiana and the Chicago market for the first time!
Since 1964, United Hospital Services has provided reliable, high-quality medical linen and services to healthcare customers across Central Indiana. As a cooperative laundry owned by hospital systems throughout Indiana, United Hospital Services only serves healthcare accounts — linen that comes through our facility is not washed alongside hotel linens or restaurant linen.

Our Location
With the building of a new, state-of-the-art plant, United Hospital Services is growing its greater Chicago Site in Hammond, Indiana. located at 1335 Huehn St. Hammond, IN. — conveniently located just outside the Chicago/Gary metro area.
Our Technology
Our 55,585 square-foot facility utilized the latest technology in the laundry industry, including a state-of-the-art tunnel washing system to wash the bulk of the laundry. Accompanied by state-of-the-art ironing and folding systems, the Kannegiesser-Etech systems allow for an increase in production while decreasing water consumption.
An overhead rail system was designed to transport laundry — both soiled and clean — eliminating the need to push carts from area to area throughout the plant. The plant will also be equipped with the ability to soften the hard Northern Indiana water, which means linens are cleaned more efficiently and effectively
